Rafael Fernando Gutierrez Jr. (n. 1985, Ft. Benning, Georgia) recibió su MFA en Studio Art (Transmedia) de The University of Texas en Austin en 2020 y su BFA en Studio Art (New Media) de The University of Texas en San Antonio en 2015. Gutiérrez recibió la beca South Texas Fellowship; la Beca Dotada por David Deming en Arte de Estudio; la Beca Dotada por Kelly Fearing en Educación Artística y Arte de Estudio; la Beca Dotada por Burdine Anderson Giese en Arte de Estudio; y el Fondo de Becas y Becas Marshall F. Wells. El trabajo de Gutiérrez ha sido exhibido más recientemente en la Galería Jonathan Hopson, Houston; El Museo de Arte McNay, San Antonio; e internacionalmente en Bogotá, Colombia y Ciudad de México, México. Gutiérrez participó en la residencia de verano de artistas de SOMA en la Ciudad de México en 2019 y actualmente es pasante de la Fundación Douglass en el Museo de Arte McNay en San Antonio, Texas.

Rafael Fernando Gutierrez Jr. (b. 1985, Ft. Benning, Georgia) received his MFA in Studio Art (Transmedia) from The University of Texas in Austin in 2020 and his BFA in Studio Art (New Media) from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2015. Gutierrez is the recipient of the South Texas Fellowship; the David Deming Endowed Scholarship in Studio Art; the Kelly Fearing Endowed Scholarship in Art Education and Studio Art; the Burdine Anderson Giese Endowed Scholarship in Studio Art; and the Marshall F. Wells Scholarship and Fellowship Endowment. Gutierrez's work has most recently been exhibited at Jonathan Hopson Gallery, Houston; The McNay Art Museum, San Antonio; and internationally in Bogotá, Colombia and Mexico City, Mexico. Gutierrez participated in the SOMA summer artist residency in Mexico City in 2019 and is currently a Douglass Foundation Intern at The McNay Art Museum in San Antonio,
Texas.
