Debuting New Piece for Performance Is Alive at Satellite Art Fair SXSW

I am developing a new performative piece titled Make Me, for Satellite Art Fair during SXSW and am working with Performance Is Alive to share this work with the festival goers.

Description: García's work investigates the alienness of being a person of color in an increasingly white city. Where does one's U.S. identity blur into culturally specific self-perception? Garcia's El Ser Nébula, an unfixed entity, explores the toll that existing in the gray area of assimilation, appropriation, and loss can have on POC. Joining Garcia with an A cappella accompaniment are friends and frequent collaborators, singer/musician Kimberly Pollini and film/maker David Bellesen.

Performance Is Alive continues to offer viewers a rare opportunity to experience bold, unapologetic and socially conscious projects through the boundless manifestations of performance art.
