The original installation was an entire gallery full of the weighted forms composed of women's nylon pantyhose that were perforated and filled with mounds of sugar and various fragrant spices. Over the course of the installation, the spices spilled out and formed piles on the gallery floor and/or became imbedded in the dripping line of honey that was drawn around the room one foot off the floor.
As installed at the MAC, there was only one wall of selected weighted forms.
"Sugargod and My Everything Nice" dealt with the early stages of our self-perception, the time in our youth when we are discovering where we end and the world begins.
The installation also featured a looped recording of a young child discussing her perception of god, fairness, and relationships with everyone around her. Some of that same child's stockings and tights were used in the creation of the weighted forms.
