This was a show I curated and exhibited in at Humo Live Art gallery in Guadalajara, Mexico. The original intention was a solo conceptual show about traveling, meeting people and learning from those interactions. I was housesitting for friends in the city over the summer and wanted to create work from my surroundings and the objects in their home. It was a show about trading and bartering within relationships and specifically from travels. What do we gain, what do we share, what do we lose? In the end I asked other artists friends of mine in the city to contribute object based work to compliment and complete the idea of relationships, learning and trading.  Other artists participating in the show were, David Ampudia, Javo Badilla, Enrique Rueda Vilches, and O. Gonzalez Terrazas.

Como viajero en el mundo, uno agrega experiencias, objetos y desarrolla relaciones con nueva gente cada día, en cada viaje; sea a otro país o al interior de uno mismo. Las personas igual que objetos absorbemos ideas y memorias que conseguimos durante nuestra existencia. Así que cuando uno interactúa con otros, compartimos.

pr(é)st(á)mos se trata de trueques entre personas. En este caso he usado mis viajes a Guadalajara para crear conexiones personales y artísticas. Uno presta y también se presta. Es un intercambio y un ciclo, mutuo beneficio que nos ayuda a crecer y cambiar.

Por mi parte, uso objetos de la casa en que me estoy

hospendando (prestados) durante mi viaje a Guadalajara, también trabajo con ropa usada que tiene sus propias memorias por el uso y el tiempo para crear nuevas obras. También encontramos colaboraciones de otros artistas de Guadalajara con quienes comparto este viaje.
