EXCESS explores abundance and overindulgence in the everyday while investigating the confines of an interior space. Over 30 artists are progressively installing works from March 17 through April 12. As their works evolve and emerge they engage with other mediums in close proximity.
This exhibition is produced by Cantanker Magazine and coincides with the release of Issue 5 also focusing on the ramifications of EXCESS. Join us for the launch party and performances. My contribution to this show was a performance piece entitled Demasiado Profundo or Too Deep. In it, I interacted with the audience from inside a giant shadowbox backlit with projected images of different rooms. I could see the audience on a closed circuit camera but all they could see my my silhouette. The piece forced me to confront my social anxiety through awkward conversation and interaction. To up the ante, my wardrobe diminished article by article as the performance progressed.
